Curriculum for this accredited online cyber security program dives into principles of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Science. You’ll complete a total of 31 credit hours comprised of 8-week or 16-week courses, such as Cyber-Engineering and the Network, Cyber-Engineering Access Control, Robotics System Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.

Admission Requirements

Am I Eligible for this Program?

Option 1:
If you have a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, cyber engineering, software engineering, or other approved degree determined by the MS Cyber Engineering Program Director and have the following pre-recs completed, then yes you are eligible!

Pre-Recs:

  • Calculus 1 & 2 OR Calculus I & Probability and Statistics
  • At least three (3) of the following IT or Science courses:
    • Foundations of Engineering/ Software Development/ Computer Science
    • Physics 1 or higher and lab
    • Computer Systems or Software Design
    • Electronics/ Electromagnetic Fields/ Circuit Design
    • Object Oriented Programing/ Design
    • Systems Design / Systems Architecture
    • Cyber Security/ Cyber Defense

Option 2:
If you do not have a degree and pre-recs listed above, but do have an IT degree (undergraduate or graduate level) and have completed college algebra or higher, then yes you are eligible!

If admitted, you would start taking 16-week courses in your first two semester to build a foundation for advanced coursework in Cyber Engineering. This format gives students additional learning modules and remediation to provide a minimal level of the background knowledge and skills needed for the program.

Example Schedule:
Semester 1: MSCE 530 Principles of Cyber Engineering & MSCE 531 Cyber Engineering and the Network
Semester 2: MSCE 532 Digital Forensics and Cyber Engineering & MSCE 533 Computer Interactions & Usability Engineering
Semester 3: Transitions into the 8-week course format

Admission to our University is very competitive as well as selective and we review each application by the same standards. The application process includes:

  • Application and Application fee
  • Submit official transcripts from all applicable colleges/universities attended; must be received directly from the issuing college or university
  • A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale
  • Any international course work completed must have official transcript evaluations completed and submitted to the University by the evaluation firm.
  • Evaluations MUST include GPA for admission.
  • Approved Evaluation Firms are:

    • World Education Services (WES)
    • Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)
    • International Education Research Foundation (IERF)
    • Educational Perspectives (EP)
    • SpanTran
  • Documentation of language fluency for non-native speakers of English, such as a score report from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the 8 International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or a report from Duolingo. This requirement is waived for students who have completed bachelor’s or master’s level coursework in the U.S. at an accredited institution.

    The minimum acceptable TOEFL or IELTS scores for admission are:

    • Paper-based TOEFL (PBT) - 550
    • Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) - 79
    • IELTS - 6
    • Duolingo - 100
